iPhone 8 Sales are shockingly slow. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? We just don't know yet. But many Apple watchers have different opinions on the matter... and what it means for the soon to be released iPhone 10. And there are repair issues too for iPhone 8 and iPhone 10.
The stakes could not be higher. Tim Cook speaking from Apple Park in Cupertino announced both the iPhone 8 and iPhone X (iPhone 10) at the same time. Both devices have new features... but it's the iPhone 10 that is truly an entirely new iPhone (despite the spin from the team at Apple). And it seems most Apple iPhone consumer have figured that out... and might just be waiting for the iPhone 10 before they even decide whether or not to upgrade.
The hottest new feature in the iPhone 8 seems to be "wireless iPhone charging". And this feature is a must-have for smartphone users around the world. No more plugging in and waiting for your iPhone to charge - now you just lay your iPhone (and soon iPad) on a mat and charge away. How convenient, right? And supposedly, the device (iPad or iPhone) will charge just as fast. And both the iPhone 8 and iPhone 10 have the new wireless charging features.
But, only the iPhone X (iPhone 10) also has the new facial recognition technology that will unlock your iPhone by just looking at it. And consumers seem to be keenly interested in this. And the iPhone 10 has a larger screen, powered by the Samsung OLED display technology. So, you (almost) have edge to edge screen viewing on the new iPhone 10.
All of this is announced, with even more new iPhone software (iOS 11) and other hardware features too. But, it remains to be seen if Apple consumers are impressed enough yet. And this is the issue for Apple stock, will it continue to soar and can they remain the world's most valuable company with these new products?
